A

  • Albatoss—A red bird that drops bombs in Super Mario Bros. 2. If Mario lands onto its back, he can ride an Albatoss around the stage.
  • Albino Dino—An arctic variety of the Dino Rhino that appears in the Crystal Palace in Paper Mario.
  • Alley Rat—A verminous enemy that appears in the Sunken Ship stage of Super Mario RPG. It is capable of poisoning party members.
  • Amanita—A mushroom enemy that appears in the Forest Maze in Super Mario RPG. It often disguises itself as a standard mushroom.
  • Amazee Dayzee—A golden walking flower that appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Yoshi's Island DS, and Super Paper Mario. In the three Paper Mario titles, they are incredibly elusive and flee from battle quickly. They are also very powerful when they choose to fight.
  • Amazing Flyin' Hammer Bro.—A Hammer Brother that rides winged blocks. It appears in Super Mario World and Super Princess Peach. Unlike other Hammer Brothers, it does not seem to appear in pairs.
  • Ameboid—An alien creature that appears in the Smithy Factory in Super Mario RPG. If not defeated quickly, it will multiply into five.
  • Amp—An electric sphere that circles objects and shocks anybody who makes direct contact. It appears in Super Mario 64, the Mario Party series, and New Super Mario Bros..
  • Angry Sun—An evil incarnation of the sun that lunges at Mario in the desert of Super Mario Bros. 3. In Mario Kart DS, the Angry Sun appears in the Desert Hills course and spits fire balls at the racers.
  • Anti Guy—A gray Shy Guy that stands guard in Shy Guy's Toybox in Paper Mario. It is also known as "Deadly Guy", due to the severity of the damage that his attacks inflict.
  • Anuboo—A black ghost that resembles the Egyptian god Anubis. They are found in Teehee Valley in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Anuboos teleport across the overworld, while shooting lasers from their eyes in battle.
  • Aqua Lakitu—A Lakitu that wears a snorkel in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. It throws Spinies when emerging from water.
  • Arachne—A giant yellow arachnid that patrols Rose Way in Super Mario RPG. Its attacks are poisonous.
  • Arantula—A more powerful, black-and-red version of Pider. It lives toward the bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Armored Ant—A stronger, heat-resistant version of Shogun. It patrols the Barrel Volcano in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
  • Artichoker—A monster that disguises itself as a plant. It hides in Booster Pass in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
  • Atomic Boo—A giant Boo that is composed of many smaller Boos. It appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario.
  • Autobomb—A cannon-like machine ridden by Shy Guys in Super Mario Bros. 2. It is able to launch fireballs.

B

  • Badge Bandit—A purple Bandit that likes to steal badges. It is found in the Pit of 100 Trials in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Bahamutt—A red dragon summoned by Chester and Magikoopa. It appears in Bowser's Keep in Super Mario RPG. It is possibly a parody of Bahamut from the Final Fantasy series.
  • Bald Cleft—A spikeless Cleft that appears guards the Shhwonk Fortress in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It also appears in several areas in Super Paper Mario.
  • Ball 'N' Chain—A giant spiked ball attached to a chain in Super Mario World.It slowly spins around a square block.
  • Bandana Blue—An elite shark lackey of Jonathan Jones. Resides in the Sunken Ship in Super Mario RPG.
  • Bandana Red—An amateur shark lackey of Jonathan Jones. Resides in the Sunken Ship in Super Mario RPG.
  • Bandit—A masked thief that attempts to steal such valuables as coins or a baby that is riding on Yoshi's back. They appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario Party 7, and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Banzai Bill—A giant-sized grinning Bullet Bill that does not appear to come from any sort of Blaster. It appears in Super Mario World, Super Princess Peach and New Super Mario Bros..
  • Barney Bubble—A purple critter that, when stepped, emits bubbles. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. His name is a parody of Barney Rubble from The Flintstones.
  • Baron Von Zeppelin—A balloon that carries such items as keys, crates, and missiles. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Barribad—A circular enemy that resembles a Yux and attacks using energy rings. It can also generate a forcefield around itself. It appears in Super Paper Mario.
  • Batadon—A flying stone head in Super Mario Land that attacks by swooping at Mario.
  • Battle Beetle—A large, hopping beetle in Super Mario Land 2.
  • Beach Koopa—A Koopa without a shell. It first appeared in Super Mario World and appeared in quite a few games since.
  • Beanie—An enemy bean that patrols Hoohoo Mountain in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. It can also disguise itself as a Pestnut. It appears to be unable to swim and floats in water.
  • Beanlet—Mischievous miniature beans that hide throughout Beanbean Castle Town. They appear in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. They can be pets.
  • Beezo—A spear-wielding, Shy Guy-derivative enemy that debuted in Super Mario Bros. 2. It also appears as "Shy Away" in Super Mario RPG, whose magical watering can gives life to Smilax and Megasmilax.
  • Big Bandit—A boss among ordinary Bandits that steals items in addition to coins. It appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Big Bertha—A giant Cheep Cheep and female counterpart to Boss Bass. It spouts small Cheep Cheeps from it's mouth and may swallow them again. It appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart 64. It also appears in Booster Tower in Super Mario RPG as a Bullet Bill (Bill Blaster in battle mode).
  • Big Boo—A giant ghost that is the boss for haunted houses in Super Mario World. It also appears in Kero Kero Sewers in Super Mario RPG and as a recurring boss in Big Boo's Haunt in Super Mario 64.
  • Big Bully—A giant, black, sphere-shaped monster with horns that tries to knock Mario off of ledges. It appears as a boss in Lethal Lava Land in Super Mario 64.
  • Bill Blaster—Stationary cannons that fire Bullet Bills at set intervals. They appear in most games that feature Bullet Bills, and their shape as well as their design has changed greatly throughout the series.
  • Birdo—A reccuring boss character that debuted in Doki Doki Panic. Appears in several other games, including Wario's Woods, Super Mario RPG, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Birdos can be pink, red, or green, and spits both eggs and fireballs through a tube-like extension on it's face.
  • Birdy—Valentina's loyal avian servants that guard Nimbus Castle. They appear in Super Mario RPG.
  • Blargg—A lava-dwelling beast that emerges when Mario or Yoshi draws near. It appears in Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Blazing Shroob—A Shroob that has caught on fire inside the Thwomp Volcano. It appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Blomeba—A floating blue robot that creates clones of itself to confuse enemies. It appears in Super Paper Mario
  • Blooper—An enemy squid that first appeared in Super Mario Bros., and has appeared in the majority of Mario's games ever since.
  • Blooper Baby—A miniature Blooper that appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, Paper Mario, and New Super Mario Bros..
  • Blooper Nanny—A Blooper that is surrounded by Blooper Babies. It appears in Super Mario Bros. 3.
  • Blow Hard—A cactus enemy that spits Needlenoses at Yoshi. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Bluebird—A stronger species of Birdy that patrols the corridors of Nimbus Castle. It appears in Super Mario RPG.
  • Blue Koopa Paratroopa—A Paratroopa with a Blue shell that appears in various games, beginning with Super Mario World.
  • Blue Koopa Troopa—A Koopa with a blue shell that appears in various games, starting with Super Mario World. It is seemingly more intelligent than the Red Koopa Troopa.
  • Blue Yoshi—A Yoshi that is colored blue that first appeared in Super Mario World. When it has a Koopa Shell in it's mouth, it can fly for a short period of time.
  • Blurp—A fish enemy that draws resemblance to Cheep Cheep, and may in actuality be an alternate version of the species. It appears in Super Mario World and Super Princess Peach.
  • Bob-omb—A walking bomb that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2, and has appeared in the majority of Mario's games since.
  • Bob-omb Buddy—Friendly pink Bob-ombs that man cannons. They appear in Super Mario 64 and Mario Party Advance.
  • Bob-ulk—A gargantuan purple Bob-omb that lights its fuse for a couple turns, then lets off a tremendous explosion. They are found near the bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Bombshell Bill—Explosive golden Bullet Bills that appear in the final dungeons in the Paper Mario series.
  • Bombshell Bill Blaster—A golden Bill Blaster that fires Bombshell Bills in the Paper Mario series.
  • Bony Beetle—A skeletal turtle-like creature with a spiked shell, which it hides in. Appears in Super Mario World and Paper Mario. After being stomped on, they will reform and continue walking.
  • Boo—A shy ghost that debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3 and has appeared in the majority of Mario's games since. When it is being looked at, it will disappear, and only pursue the character when his or her back is turned.
  • Boo Balloon—A ghastly balloon that expands after being hit by an egg in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. In New Super Mario Bros, it inflates when looked at and deflates when facing away.
  • Boo Blah—An elastic, creeping ghost. It haunts Bigger Boo's Fort in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Boo Buddy Block—A variant of the Boo that when faced, instead of vanishing, turns into a block that can be jumped or stepped on. Appears in Super Mario World.
  • Boo Buddy Snake—A short group of Boo Buddies who bounce off of the walls, floor, and ceiling in Super Mario World.
  • Boo Guy—Ghostly Shy Guys that appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Boo Man Bluff—A blindfolded Boo that senses Yoshi's footsteps. It haunts Bigger Boo's Fort in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Bookend—A possessed book that inhabits the haunted library of Big Boo's Haunt. It appears in Super Mario 64.
  • Boomerang Brothers—The boomerang-throwing relatives of the Hammer Brothers. They appear in Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Superstar Baseball, and Super Paper Mario.
  • Boom Guy—A Shy Guy with a Bullet Bill Blaster on it's head. If jumped on enough, the Blaster will come off, but Boom Guys can get replacements. Appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Boss Bass—A giant Cheep Cheep and male counterpart to Big Bertha that chases Mario and attempts to swallow him whole. It appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64 and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Bouncing Bullet Bill—An orange Bullet Bill that bounces off of walls. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Bowling Goonie—An obese and flightless Goonie who can only move by rolling. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Bristle—A spiked creature that can only be attacked from afar. It guards Shhwonk Fortress in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Broozer—A boxing ghost that busts through blocks in New Super Mario Bros..
  • Brown Yoshi—A Yoshi that is colored brown. It is one of the Yoshis that are playable in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Bub-ulb—A friendly plant creature that grows seeds. They appear in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Bubble Bob-omb—A Bob-omb in a bubble. Appears in Super Mario World.
  • Bubble Dayzee—A blue Crazee Dayzee that blows bubbles. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • Bulky Bob-omb—A massive pink Bob-omb with intense explosive power. It is found in Pirate's Grotto in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Bullet Bill—A propelled bullet that debuted in Super Mario Bros. and has appeared in the majority of Mario's games since.
  • Bully—A black, sphere-shaped monster with horns that tries to knock Mario off of ledges. It appears in Lethal Lava Land in Super Mario 64. Bully is also the name of a small bull-like enemy in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Bumpty—Penguins that attempt to knock Yoshi off icy ledges in in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. Friendly versions inhabit frosty villages in Paper Mario, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Bunbun—A wasp that wields a spear in Super Mario Land.
  • Burt—A clown-like enemy that bounces off one another Burt's head. They appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Buster Beetle—An aggressive counterpart to Buzzy Beetle that hurls blocks at Mario. It appears in Super Mario Bros. 3.
  • Buzzer—A wasp enemy that patrols the Forest Maze. It appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
  • Buzzy Beetle—A cave-dwelling, hard-shelled insect that debuted in Super Mario Bros.. It since has appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Paper Mario, and New Super Mario Bros..
  • Bzzap—A bee enemy that emerged from trees when Mario draws near. It appears in Flower Fields in Paper Mario.

  • Dancing Spear Guy—A Spear Guy that dances.
  • Dangling Ghost—A ghost hanging from the ceiling that tries to snatch Baby Mario.
  • Dark Barribad—A stronger, darkly colored variant of the Barribad that only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Bones—A powerful, darkly colored Dry Bones that appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Dark Boo—A purple, more powerful Boo found in the painting at the Poshley Sanctum in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door; also appears in the Gritzy Caves of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Dark Boomerang Bro.—A completely black version of the Boomerang Bro. that is very strong. It appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Bristle—A black, more powerful version of the Bristle that lives in the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Dark Cleft—A completely black Moon Cleft that is much more powerful. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Craw—An evil spearthrower. One goes under the name Craw-Daddy at the Glitz Pit. Others can be found in the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Dark Cursya—A completely black Cursya in the Flopside Pit of 100 trials in Super Paper Mario. A common joke in the game is that it's impossible to differenciate between the several types of Dark Cursyas until you step on them.
  • Dark Dark Boo—A completely black version of the Dark Boo that appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario. It attacks in the same ways that Dark Boos attack.
  • Dark Dayzee—A completely black version of the Amazy Dayzee that is much more powerful. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Fire Bro.—A completely black version of the Fire Bro. that is incredibly powerful. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Goomba—A completely black Goomba in Super Paper Mario. It is only found in the Flopside Pit of 100 trials and is very powerful.
  • Dark Hammer Bro.—A completely black version of the Hammer Bro. that is much stronger than a regular Hammer Bro. It appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Koopa—A purple-shelled Koopa that lives in darkness. Appears in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Another version appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario. This version is completely black and much more powerful.
  • Dark Koopatrol—A Koopatrol with blue armor and red eyes. One goes under the name Koopinator in the Glitz Pit, and others can be found in the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Another version appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario. This version is completely black and much more powerful.
  • Dark Lakitu—A Lakitu that rides on a dark cloud and throws Sky-Blue Spinies instead of normal ones. Located in the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Dark Longator—A completely black Longator that is much stronger. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Magiblot—A completely black Magiblot that is very powerful. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Magikoopa—A completely black Magikoopa that is much stronger than the average Magikoopa. It appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Megabite—A completely black Megabite that is more powerful than a normal Megabite. It appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Muth—A completely black Muth that is very strong. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Ninjoe—A completely black Ninjoe that is very powerful. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Paratroopa—A Dark Koopa with wings. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Another version appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario. This version is completely black and much more powerful.
  • Dark Spiny—A completely black Spiny. It is much more powerful that regular Spinies. It only appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Stone Buzzy—A completely black Stone Buzzy that is very powerful. It appears in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials in Super Paper Mario.
  • Dark Wizzerd—The weakest of the half-organic, half-mechanic creatures. It resides in the Palace of Shadow. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Deep-Cheep—A green Cheep-Cheep, considerably more aggressive than the normal type, in New Super Mario Bros..
  • Dino Rhino—A rhinoceros-like dinosaur enemy found in Super Mario World.
  • Dino-Torch—A small,fire breathing Dino Rhino that appears in Super Mario World.
  • Dizzy Dandy—A flowerlike enemies foun in Yoshi's Island.
  • Doctor Freezegood—A skiing snowman.
  • Dolphin—A helpful creature that you can ride in the water in Super Mario World.
  • Doogan—A dog-like species introduced in Paper Mario and continued into Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Dry Bones—A collapsable Koopa Troopa skeleton that debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3 and has appeared in most Mario games since. Sometimes it can throw bones at the player.
  • Dryite—A person garbed in clothes in the desert.
  • Dull Bones—A weak Dry Bones that cannot reform itself. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Super Paper Mario, it was actually more powerful than regular Dry Bones.
  • Duplighost—A ghost that can change its shape. Appears in Paper Mario.

E

  • Eeker—A living beaker who fights with fire rods in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Eerie—A ghostly dinosaur-like enemy that flies throughout the room in Super Mario World. It usually appears in pairs.
  • Egg-Plant—A plant that spits out Yoshi eggs. Some spit out Needlenoses. Appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's island DS.
  • Eggo-Dil—A large flower in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. It attacks by launching petals in five different directions.
  • Electrokoopa—An electric Koopa who patrols different areas in Super Mario Sunshine. Comes in three varieties.
  • Elite Boom Guy—A stronger version of the Boom Guy. It appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Elite Troopea—A very powerful Troopea with a red shell. It appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Elite Wizzerd—The strongest of the Wizzerds. It is located near the bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Elite X-Naut—The highest-ranking X-Naut soldiers that appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Unlike the X-Naut Grunt or PhD, this type of X-Naut wears a black uniform.
  • Ember—A blue fire creature in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door which splits in two if a hit on them doesn't defeat them.
  • Enigma—An assortment of clustered pig heads found in the Moleville Mines in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. A palette swap of Gorgon.

  • Gargantua Blargg—A giant Blargg that emerges from lava in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Geckit—A gecko enemy that appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars; a palette swap of Gecko.
  • Gecko—A gecko enemy that appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars; a palette swap of Geckit.
  • Georgette Jelly—A slithering jelly creature.
  • Giant Spiked Ball—A giant spiked ball.
  • Gloomba—A dark version of a Goomba that is found underground. It was colored grey because of a palette error, but eventually was turned into a variation of the Goomba in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Glum Reaper—A ghost with scythes for hands.
  • Glurp—A bluish puddle that can split into two Glurps.
  • Gnarantula—An odd spider-like enemy in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Golden Beanie—A very fast Beanie. Can sometimes be a Pestnut in disguise.
  • Gold Bowser Statue—A hopping Bowser statue.
  • Gold Fuzzy-A rare, golden Fuzzy.
  • Gold Koopeleon—A defensive Koopeleon that often flees from battle in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Goomba (or Chibibo)—The very first enemy that appears in Super Mario Bros. and has appeared in most of Mario's games since.
  • Goomba in a Bubble-A Goomba that is trapped in a bubble.
  • Goombette—A tiny Goomba.
  • Goomdiver—A Goomba that wears a scuba mask and attack underwater in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Goonie—A bird that Yoshi can ride on.
  • Gotchawrench—A Wrench-like creature from Wrecking Crew.
  • Grand Goomba—A large Goomba found in Giant Land.
  • Gray Bowser Statue-A statue of Bowser found in Super Mario Bros. 3. Some shoot fireballs or lasers.
  • Green Colossal Koopa Paratroopa-A giant green Koopa Paratroopa found in Giant Land.
  • Green Gargantua Koopa Troopa-A giant green Koopa Troopa found in Giant Land.
  • Green Glove—A Shy Guy that throws eggs and catches them.
  • Grim Leecher—A grim reaper that removes Baby Mario from Yoshi's back and reverses the controls.
  • Grindel—A mummified Thwomp in Shifting Sand Land of Super Mario 64. It levitates in the air and falls to the ground, much like a Thwomp.
  • Grinder-A spinning rotary blade.
  • Gritty Goomba-A Goomba with a spear on its back.
  • GRN Magikoopa-A Magikoopa that wears green robes. Can boost allies' defense power.
  • Grodus X—a magical protector of Grodus that has the same characteristics as a Mini-Yux, only it is shaped as an X and not a triangle like a normal Mini-Yux. Grodus requires four Grodus Xs to create a barrier around him. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Groove Guy-A Shy Guy jester.
  • Grubby—a spiked slug in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.
  • Grunt-A soldier that wears a thorny helmet. An egg will knock the helmet off.
  • GRY Magikoopa-A Magikoopa that wears grey robes. Can temporarily turn his allies invisible.
  • Guardian Shroob—a white Shroob that guards the Shroob Mother Ship in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
  • Guerrilla—a giant ape reminiscent of Donkey Kong that chucks rocks at the player in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
  • Gulpit—a fat purple creature that spits rocks at Mario in Paper Mario.
  • Gunner Guy-A Shy Guy with a cannon on its mouth.
  • Gusty-A cloud creature that flies across the screen.

  • Ice Puff—a blue Ruff Puff which appears in the frigid region of Fahr Outpost in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Ice Snift—a Snift that spits ice. Appears in Joke's End in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Incoming Chomp—a Chain Chomp that leaps into the foreground and eats away the floor. Appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Iron Cleft—a type of Cleft in the Glitz Pit from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door that is invincible to any attack except to another Iron Cleft smashing against its body, like a diamond only being able to break another diamond.

  • Unagi—A giant eel that varies in size in Super Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros.
  • Urchin—An underwater hazard in Super Mario World and Super Princess Peach.

  • Wall Lakitu—A Lakitu that peeks its head out of a hole in a wall and throws Spiny Eggs. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Whacka—A rare creature from the Paper Mario series that, when hit on the head, drops a Whacka's Bump. If hit enough, it will die.
  • Whirly Guy—A flashing Fly Guy that quickly flies away when approached. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • White Clubba—Arctic-thriving Clubbas that patrol found Shiver Mountain in Paper Mario.
  • White Magikoopa—A Magikoopa that wears white robes and appears in the Paper Mario series. It has the ability to heal itself and others.
  • Whomp—A tall, walking stone creature that hurls itself onto Mario when approached. It appears in Super Mario 64, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, New Super Mario Bros., and the Mario Party series.
  • Wind Spirit—Ghastly clouds that appear in Super Mario Sunshine and swirl around Mario, charging at him.
  • Winkle—A friendly snail race that lives in the Chucklehuck Forest in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Wiggler—A passive yellow caterpillar that becomes aggressive and red when stomped on. It appears in a large amount of Mario games.
  • Wild Ptooie Plant—A green Piranha Plant that spits out Needlenoses. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Wizzerd—a half-organic, half-mechanical creature that lives in the Pit of 100 Trials. Appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
  • Woozy Guy—a dizzy Shy Guy that flips into the air to move in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS.

  • Yellow Koopa Paratroopa—A Paratroopa with a yellow shell that first appeared in Super Mario World. They are very rare, only appearing in a few levels.
  • Yellow Koopa Troopa—A Koopa with a yellow shell that first appeared in Super Mario World. They have the ability to leap into their shells and spin around, becoming much harder to kill.
  • Yellow Magiblot—A black, bloblike magician that shoots yellow beams of energy and teleports around the room by going into the floor. It appears in Super Paper Mario.
  • Yellow Magikoopa—A Magikoopa that wears yellow robes. It can temporarily electrify one of his allies. Appears in the Paper Mario series.
  • Yellow Yoshi—A Yoshi that is yellow that first appeared in Super Mario World. If one has a Koopa shell in it's mouth, it can create small earthquakes by jumping.
  • Yo Bro—A reptile that attacks with a red and green yo-yo. It appears in Woohoo Hooniversity in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • Yoshi—A species of dinosaurs that first appeared in Super Mario World. They attack with their long, sticky tongues and have a voracious appetite. They also come in a myriad of colors.
  • Yux—A mechanical "X"-shaped creature that appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It was constructed by the X-Nauts and shoots circular rays in and out of battle. It can also spawn Mini Yux which create a forcefield around it.

Z

  • Z-Yux—A gray Yux that thrives on the Moon in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Like the standard Yux, it shoots circular rays of energy in and out of battle. If not defeated quickly, it will spawn a Mini Z-Yux.
  • Zeostar—A stronger, teal-colored version of Starslap that resides in the Sunken Ship in Super Mario RPG. It is able to heal its allies and use venomous attacks to poison Mario's party members.
  • Zeus Guy—A masked enemy that appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They are invincible and shoot balls of fire from their hands.
