Colin Dowdeswell and Christo van Rensburg were the defending champions, but Dowdeswell retired from professional tennis at the end of the season,[1] after playing his last tournament at Paris during the previous month.

In men's doubles, Christo van Rensburg and Mike Depalmer posted a 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) victory over the top-seeded team of Gomez and Sherwood Stewart. The final point came when Stewart hammered a forehand that nicked the net and bounded over the backline.
