Abishek Raaja

Abishek Raaja (born 2 October 1990) is an Indian actor, director and video jockey who predominately works in the Tamil film and television industry. He is known for appearing in films such as Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018) and Karungaapiyam (2023).[2]

    Early life

    Abishek was born on 2 October 1990 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling at Jeevana Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Madurai and later joined TVS Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Madurai for the higher secondary level of education. He went on to graduate from the Christ University in Bengaluru before stepping into the cinema industry to follow his passion.[3]

    Career

    Initially, Abishek worked Radio Jockey at Radio Mirchi in Madurai. He later went on to Behindwoods as a video jockey. He also later went on to host the Behindwoods Gold Medal award ceremony. He also worked as assistant director for the 2014 film Jigarthanda.[4] In 2018, he debuted as an actor in the movie Imaikkaa Nodigal alongside actress Nayanthara.[5] In 2021, he participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 5 as an contestant and was later evicted from the show on day 63.[6][7]

    In early 2024, Abishek announced his debut as an film director for his upcoming film titled Jaam Jaam while G. Dilli Babu is the producer of the. The film is set to be romantic film and set to release in later of 2024.[8][9]

    Personal life

    In 2017, Abishek married his long-term girlfriend Deepa Nadarajan in a close family wedding, however the couple broke ties 2 years later and legally got a divorced in 2019.[10] In 2024, he married Swathi Nagarajan in a close Hindu wedding.[11]
