History
It was improvised[2] during the Israeli invasion of Gaza during the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, in a converted building, as a way for soldiers of the IDF to pray amidst the war.[3]
Before the establishment of the synagogue, soldiers also prayed in the Gaza synagogue, which was established in 508 during the time of the Byzantine empire.[4][5] For 2 decades the synagogue was closed and Jews were not allowed to worship at the holy site.[6]
