Ahmed Hilmy Didi

Ahmed Hilmy Didi was a Maldivian politician and diplomat.

Didi was born in 1917. He was in the leadership position in Peoples' Progressive Party in 1950s.[1]

Didi was a member of cabinet during Ibrahim Nasir presidency. He was the minister of health in 1964.[2] He was appointed as the first permanent representative of the Maldives in United Nations from 1965 to 1966.[3][4] Later he was the ambassador to Ceylon from 1967[2] to 1970.[5]

Didi was appointed Vice President of the Maldives in the administration of President Ibrahim Nasir.[6] He was one of the Vice Presidents from October 1975[7] to May 1977.[8] He was also the minister of fisheries during that time.[7][8]

Didi served as the minister of agriculture in the cabinet of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom in 1980s.[9]
