Alex Luna (singer)

Alexander Tyshchenko (born 2 March 1986), better known as Alex Luna, is a Ukrainian countertenor.[1]

Biography and career

Luna graduated from the Kyiv Glier Institute of Music in 2005.[2]

In 2003, Luna was cast in a leading role in the Ukrainian musical Equator.[3]

His first album Svet Luny (Moon Light) and his third video were presented in Kyiv City Hall.[4]

After Claudio Simonetti heard Luna's voice, he went to Kyiv to meet the singer in person.[5]

Luna has performed with the children's chorus at the annual New Year's Eve ball in Kyiv.[6]

In 2009 Luna received the Person of the Year award. He also appeared on several magazine covers such as 10 Days magazine, What's On,[7] and Gallery magazine.[8]

Charity

In September 2011, Luna took part in the Anti-AIDS campaign organized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Healthcare.[9] He performed his single Heavens with Vlada Crystal at the event held as part of the campaign.[10]

He also performed at Third Presidential Charity Ball in Almaty (Kazakhstan)[11] and on the opening of the 10th Gala AIDS Ball in Berlin (Germany)
