History

Bhoj is known for its association with legendary Swamis, whose stories are well known among the villagers.

Approximately 500 to 600 years ago, Bhoj was home to Godman HH Mahant Swamiji. His samadhi (memorial) is currently located in the village.

HH Mahant Swamiji was friends with HH Bangal Saab Maharaj, who resided in the nearby village of Karadaga, located 2 kilometers away. The two would meet to exchange views and express their mutual respect for their spiritual beliefs.

Due to the presence of the Doodhganga River between Bhoj and Karadaga, it was challenging for both individuals to meet during the rainy season.

However, despite natural obstacles, Bangal Saab managed to cross the river by sitting on a floating mat, enabling the swamijis to meet daily.

Bhoj is a village renowned for being the home of the Jain Muni Shri 108 Pratham-Acharya Shantisagarji Maharaj.
