Dietrich von Rothenstein

Dietrich von Rothenstein (Bettendorf) (b. 1518 - d. 31 January 1580) was the Prince-Bishop of Worms from 1552 to 1580.

Biography

Dietrich was born into the Bettendorf family, part of an old German nobility, as the second son of Johannes Hans von Bettendorf (1484-1556) and his wife, Barbara von Gemmingen (d. 1521).[1] He was appointed Prince-Bishop on November 28, 1552, and died in office on January 31, 1580.[2]
