Emily Moxley
Emily Rose Moxley (born October 29, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who is a defender for Carolina Ascent FC of the USL Super League. She played college soccer for the UNC Wilmington Seahawks and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Early life
Moxley was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of four children of Jennifer Moxley.[1] She played two seasons of high school soccer for Panther Creek High School, earning all-region honors as a freshman and sophomore.[3][4] She played club soccer for the NC Courage Academy.[3]
College career
As a freshman, Moxley was a starting forward at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2019.[1] In her first two games, she scored two goals and was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week.[5] She finished the season with five goals and a team-best eight assists and was named to the CAA All-Rookie team.[1] She played with Oak City United, an amateur Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) club based in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2021.[6]
Moxley transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a starting defender and midfielder from 2021 to 2023.[3] She recorded two assists in a 2–0 win over her former team, Wilmington, in August 2022.[3][7] In the 2022 ACC tournament, she scored the winning penalty kick in the semifinals and was named to the all-tournament team.[3][8] She assisted Julia Dorsey on a free kick for the game winner in the semifinals of the 2022 NCAA tournament.[9] She finished her career at North Carolina with 17 assists in three seasons.[3]
Professional career
After going undrafted in the 2024 NWSL Draft, Moxley trained with the Orlando Pride in February 2024.[10] She was then signed by Charlotte's new Carolina Ascent FC in May 2024.[11]
