Goondiwindi State High School

Goondiwindi State High School is a public, co-educational, high school, located in Goondiwindi, Queensland, Australia.[1] It is administered by the Department of Education, with an enrolment of 505 students and a teaching staff of 51, as of 2023.[2] The school serves students from Year 7 through to Year 12,[1] predominately from the local areas of Goondiwindi, Yelarbon, Inglewood, Millmerran, and Toobeah, as well as many other small towns in the district.

History

The school was one of the numerous civic improvements to occur in Goondiwindi between the 1920s and 1960s,[3] opening on 28 January 1964,[4] with an enrolment of 178 students by February the very same year.[5]

On the schools 50th Anniversary in 2014, the student enrolment was 477 students and a teaching staff of 41 (38 full-time equivalent).[6]
