Kamran Najafzadeh

Kamran Najafzadeh (Persian: کامران نجف‌زاده), also written as Kamran Najaf Zadeh, is an Iranian journalist and TV host for Iranian state radio and television, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.[1] He is one of the first anchors of IRIB's 20:30, the political news segment.[1]

Personal life

Kamran Najafzadeh was born on May 19, 1979, in Sattarkhan, a neighborhood of Tehran. He is married and has one son. Najafzadeh holds a bachelor's degree in Genetic Engineering and a master's degree in Theatre.

Career

Before joining Iranian television, Kamran Najafzadeh worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including Arman and Kayhan Sports.[2]

After years of working as a broadcast journalist, Kamran Najafzadeh was appointed as the reporter for Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting in France. On March 26, 2011, Najafzadeh was expelled from France. Although the French government never issued a public statement regarding this incident, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting claimed that "the French Ministers of the Interior and Foreign Affairs decided, during a meeting, that the IRIB News reporter had crossed the yellow line and stirred up hatred in the French public opinion."[3][4]

After returning to Tehran, IRIB decided to appoint Kamran Najafzadeh to its office in New York. The day after the release of Jason Rezaian from Evin Prison on January 16, 2016, Najafzadeh's visa was issued by the United States government.[5] This raised speculation about a potential behind-the-scenes agreement between the Iranian Government and the Obama administration.

During his time in France, he conducted a brief one-liner interview with Argentine professional footballer Lionel Messi.[6] He was registered as a candidate for the Islamic Consultative Assembly.[7]

Najafzadeh has several interviews with famous and renowned activists in different fields including Hassan Nasrallah and,[8] Larry King,[9]

Current role

Following his assignment in New York, Najafzadeh returned to Tehran and embarked on a new career path as the host of a widely acclaimed TV program titled "Bermuda." This show has garnered significant popularity by featuring celebrity guests and engaging them in various challenges.[10]
