Khamsa - The Well of Oblivion (Arabic: خمصة - بئر النسيان)[1][2][3] is a 2022 Algerian animated film directed by Khaled Chiheb[4][5] of D-Clik Productions. The film follows a young boy named Adi who awakens with amnesia at the bottom of a dark well. Accompanied by two peculiar creatures, Adi embarks on a quest to recover his memories, only to discover the truth is more complex than he imagined.[6][7][8]

Plot
A young boy named Adi wakes up with amnesia at the bottom of a dark well. Joined by two strange creatures, he sets out to recover his memories, but the truth is more than he bargained for.[9][10]
Production
Vynom, a graduate of the Algiers Fine Arts School, also served as the film's art director.[11][12]
Release and reception
Khamsa - The Well of Oblivion garnered international acclaim, being nominated for awards at both the Annecy International Animation Film Festival[13][14][15] and the Ottawa International Animation Festival[16] in 2022.[17][18][19][20] It also received an award at the Niigata International Animation Film Festival, in Japan, in 2023.[21]
The film has been described as "a sublime travel"[22]
