Lixia, Jinan

Lixia District (Chinese: 历下区; pinyin: Lìxià Qū) is one of 10 urban districts of the prefecture-level city and the capital of Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, a sister city of Sacramento (the capital of California), forming part of the Jinan's urban core, where the CBD of Jinan located. The GDP (PPP) per capita reached US$56,429 (by 2023),[3] surpassing Italy, France and the United Kingdom, and exceeding most of developed countries.

History

Lixia was named in 770 B.C. (during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period), belonged to Qi State, since it down to the Mt. Lishan so the meaning of its name is Li (Mt. Lishan) Xia (Down). Then it was named Lixia District in September 1955.
