Biography

Pendleton grew up in Fresno, California.[3]

Pendleton founded Tunnel Vision Clothing.[3] She is known for splitting the company's earnings equally between all employees, with each employee including herself taking home the same wage.[4] Madeline self-describes her business structure as running on a "socialist model." One of Pendleton's goals for the company is ensuring every employee owns a home.[5]

Pendleton wrote I Survived Capitalism and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt: Everything I Wish I Never Had To Learn About Money, which was released January 16, 2024.[1] The book is a mix of autobiographical and personal finance material, detailing Pendleton's life and how she survived homelessness, debt, and being on a low income, sharing a series of "capitalism survival skills" that helped her in the process of survival.
