Mami Uchida

Mami Uchida (内田 愛美, Uchida Mami, born February 6) is a Japanese voice actress. She was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, affiliated with Forest Link.

Career

She was a member of the drama club in middle school and had the opportunity to play the role of a boy, but sometimes felt limited by the way she dressed and spoke, playing someone who was far removed from herself in gender and physique.[2] A senior member of the same club had just aspired to be a voice actor, and that senior member told her about voice acting as a profession.[2] She says she became interested in voice acting because she thought, "If you are a voice actress, you can play characters taller than you are, very small characters like fairies, and even boys of different genders, which is like a dream job."[2] Later, when she told her parents that she wanted to become a voice actress, they said, "Why don't you try what you want to do?" and they supported her, so she began attending the Voice Actor Department of Amusement Media Academy and started to pursue her goal of becoming a voice actress.[2][3]

She was a member of EARLY WING (associate member from April 2010 to March 2012), but left in June 2015.[4]

After a period of freelance work, she has been with Crocodile since May 3, 2016.[5] On April 1, 2021, Crocodile merged with Forest Link, and its current affiliation is with Crocodile's Forest Link Division.
