Powder (2024 film)

Powder is a 2024 Indian Kannada-language youthful dark comedy film, directed by Janardhan Chikkanna and produced by KRG Studios in collaboration with TVF Motion Pictures.[1] The story and screenplay is written by Deepak Venkateshan. The film features Diganth Manchale, Dhanya Ramkumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Anirudh Acharya, Rangayana Raghu, Ravishankar Gowda, Gopal Krishna Deshpande and others.

The film was initially schedule to release on 12 July 2024,[2] but the makers announced that 'Powder' will hit theatres on 15 August 2024.[3]

Plot

Powder is a story about get-rich-quick plans, the goons who are in desperate search for their missing consignment and the mastermind who wants to stamp their authority and restore order, all resulting in a comedy of errors.

The muhurtha of the film took place in Bangalore on 6 September 2023.[4][5]

Filming

The shooting commenced in Mysuru on 30 October 2023[6] and wrapped up the first schedule within 30 days. The second and final schedule of the film was wrapped up at Bangalore on 14 March 2024.[7]

Release

The film was initially set to be released on 5 April 2024, however owing to production delays the movie was pushed ahead and is now set to be released theatrically on 15 August 2024.[8] On 17 May 2024, the makers released the teaser of the film on YouTube platform. The one-minute and 45-second video starts with the message "Powder: A fun-Indian film from the Kannada film industry" and it uncovers the underlying emotions of greed, love, desire and the longing for affection and acceptance.[9] The teaser has promised to present a laugh riot to audiences on 15 August when the film releases in theatres.
