Rotana Drama
Rotana Drama (Arabic: روتانا دراما) was an Egyptian free-to-air satellite TV general entertainment unencrypted channel that was owned by the Rotana Group network. It launched in May 2011, 4 months after the Egyptian uprising in January. The channel won the award of The Best Youth Show in the Arab world in the second year of Cairo's Radio and TV Mondial.[1][2] The channel received international coverage after featuring a birthday party that appeared as a marriage of two men in Egypt,[3] where same-sex relationships are not technically illegal but are nevertheless punishable in practice.[4]
