Sandra Villines
Sandra Villines is an ultramarathon runner most well known for breaking a world record for fastest time for a woman to complete the 3000 mile coast-to-coast crossing of the United States by foot (the Trans America Run[1]), as of November 2017. Villines finished in 54 days, 16 hours, and 24 minutes, breaking South African Mavis Hutchinson's time of 69 days, 2 hours, and 40 minutes.[2][3][4] This record was broken again in November 2023 by Jenny Hoffman who completed the Trans America Run in 47 days, 12 hours, and 35 minutes.[5]
