Shweta Mahale

Shweta Mahale, nee Patil, (born 27 March 1983) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. She is the Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Buldhana District.[1][2]

Early life and education

Mahale was born in Lonar, Buldhana District, Maharashtra. She did her SSC from Amravati Board in 1999 and later completed her diploma in pharmacy from Anuradha Pharmacy College Chikhl, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati in 2002.[3] She married Vidhyadhar Mahale.

Career

Shweta is a first-time MLA. She won the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Election from Chikhali Assembly Constituency defeating two-time MLA Rahul Bondre of Indian National Congress by a margin of 6,810 votes.[4][5] In March 2021, she demanded police action against a reported incident of dishonouring women in a hostel in Jalgaon district, who were allegedly forced to perform naked.[6]

Award

Shweta received Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Award in 'Debutante Politician' category.[7]
