Túlio Starling

Túlio Starling (born April 30, 1990) is a Brazilian actor. Known for his performance in soap operas such as No Rancho Fundo and Pantanal.[1] [2]

Biography

Túlio Starling began studying theater in 2003 in Belo Horizonte at the age of 13 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from the University of Brasília in 2015, at the age of 25. He has lived in São Paulo since 2017, when he joined Teatro Oficina, where he was directed by Zé Celso Martinez. On stage, he has performed with big names in Brazilian theater, such as Hilton Cobra and Renato Borghi. In cinema, he has worked with Jesuíta Barbosa in the short film "Água Doce" and with Letícia Colin and Bárbara Paz in the film "A Porta ao Lado". Since 2005, he worked for twelve years with several theater creators and filmmakers in the Federal District where he co-founded the Agrupação Teatral Amacaca - ATA.[1][2]

Some works in theater from this period are the plays “Wergba” (2006, Dir. Similião Aurélio); “Cosme trepado” (2010, Dir. James Fensterseifer); “Ensaio Geral” (2012, Dir. Hugo Rodas and ATA) and “Desbunde” (2015, Dir. Juliana Drummond and Abaetê Queiroz), for which he was awarded in the Best Actor category at the SESC Award at Teatro Candango. Since 2017, the actor has been a member of Teatro-Oficina Uzyna Uzona, the longest-running theater company in the country, with almost 65 years of existence. In this company, he acted in the plays “Bacantes” (2017), “Macumba Antropófaga” (2017), “O Rei da Vela” (2017-2018), “Roda Viva” (2018-2020) and “Mutação da Apoteose” (2023 ).[1]

On television, he participated in the first phase of the soap opera “Pantanal” (2022, TV Globo), which was nominated for the International Emmy for Best Soap Opera; and is one of the protagonists of the next six soap operas on the same network, “No Rancho Fundo” (2024).[1]

In cinemas, he debuted in feature films with “Faroeste caboclo” (2013, Dir. René Sampaio), starred in the film “Campus Santo” (2015, Dir. Márcio Curi) and stands out in “Anna” (2019, Dir. Heitor Dhalia), released at the 21st Rio Film Festival. It is also in “A porta ao lado” (2022, Dir. Julia Rezende) and in “O pastor e o guerrilleiro” (2022, Dir. José Eduardo Belmonte), both with visits to the biggest festivals in the country.[1]

The short “Água doce” (Dir. Antonio Miano) is in circulation at international film festivals, having been selected by festivals in Norway, Austria, Australia and Germany.[1]

In streaming, he is in the series “Feras” (2019) MTV, “Hit Parade” (2021) Canal Brasil, “Vicky e a musa” (2023-2024) Globoplay and, on Star+, he debuted in the series “Dois Tempos” (2023 ). The premiere of “Justiça 2” is scheduled for 2024, and the premiere of the second season of “Lama dos Dias” is scheduled for 2024.[1]
