The Bluff is an upcoming American swashbuckler drama film co-written by Frank E. Flowers and Joe Ballarini with Flowers also directing. It stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green and Vedanten Naidoo.

Premise

In the Caribbean during the 19th century Caribbean a former female pirate (Chopra Jonas) must protect her family when her past catches up to her.

Development

The film has a screenplay written by Frank E. Flowers and Joe Ballarini and was announced in 2021 as a production for Netflix with Zoe Saldana in the lead role.[1]

Reports in January 2024 suggested Priyanka Chopra Jonas replaced Zoe Saldana in the lead role.[2] Producers on the film reported in March 2024, with the film being made for Amazon Prime Video include Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco for AGBO, with Cinestar Pictures’ Cisely Saldana and Mariel Saldana as well as Priyanka Chopra Jonas who also stars. Karl Urban was reportedly in talks to star in March 2024.[3][4] In May, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green and Vedanten Naidoo joined the cast in undisclosed roles.[5][6]

Filming

Principal photography began in June 2024 in Australia with a three month filming schedule.[3][7][8]
