History

During World War II, in 1942,[2] Jews of the village[3] were murdered by an Einsatzgruppen assisted by auxiliary police in a mass execution.[4]

Until 26 January 2024, Turiisk was designated urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Turiisk became a rural settlement.[5]
