Vedaant Madhavan

Vedaant Madhavan [1] is an Indian swimmer. He won the 48th Junior Indian National Aquatics Championships, winning 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals.[2][3] He also set a new national junior record time in 1500m freestyle at this event. [4] He won five gold medals at the Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2023.

Early life

Vedaant Madhavan was born on 21 August 2005 to Indian actor R. Madhavan and Sarita Birje in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2021, Vedaant moved to Dubai for six months for swimming training. [5]

Career

Danish Open 2022

Vedaant Madhavan won his first international medal, a bronze, at Latvia Open in March 2021. He won his first international gold medal at Danish Open in April 2022.[6][7]

Junior National Aquatics Championships 2022

In 2022, Vedaant participated in the 48th Junior National Aquatics Championships where he won 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals. Vedaant also set a new national junior record time in 1500m freestyle of 16:01.73 minutes (the national record is 15:20.91)[8]

Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2023

Vedaant won five gold medals in the Malaysian Open Swimming Championships 2023 in the men's freestyle categories- 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m.
