Spent 10 years all told studying English language and literature in college and graduate school: Old English, Middle English, Elizabethan English, Modern English. Taught freshman English courses in poetry, fiction, and expository writing for five years. Native speaker of American English, I was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia, close to the infamous Twelve Mile Circle.
