I've been a long term editor on Wikivoyage and Wikipedia, and I'm not sure why my edits need to be reviewed here - with most of them removing duplicate words. SHB2000 (discuss • contribs) 12:09, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: We generally prefer reviewing edits till they get automatically promoted to reviewer, and normally give autoreview only when there is a good reason otherwise (examples include high-volume editing or similar that would cause unnecessary work for reviewers). I'm not seeing that in your case unless I am missing something. Leaderboard (discuss • contribs) 12:25, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- It's mainly the fact that when I'm removing a duplicate word, someone needs to review each and every one of my edits. SHB2000 (discuss • contribs) 12:29, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- Fine.
Done for one month; hopefully you become a reviewer by then. Leaderboard (discuss • contribs) 12:47, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

For some reason, I fulfil all the criteria, but autopromotion is failing to occur. So thus, Wikibooks:Reviewers tells me to come here. Thanks, SHB2000 (discuss • contribs) 13:29, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Done, it appears that some reason the software has chosen not to promote you, as you seem to fulfill the automatic criteria. I'm hoping that this is not a re-occurrence of the earlier problems we had. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 11:12, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

I realise that this is just a chain reaction with users who have been actively been fighting vandalism over the past few months, but I'm requesting sysop tools for a similar reason as Kittycataclysm. I've thought about this for the last month or two, but particularly between 08:00–11:30 UTC, there are few sysops available leading to hours'-long edit wars with LTAs and hope that I can use these tools.
If I were to assess myself, I would personally say I may need more experience on Wikibooks; however, I'm already a sysop on the English Wikivoyage, my home wiki (and not to gloat, but Xtools should sum it all).
I should also make a disclaimer that real life has got in the way recently since mid-November, but I should have more time to edit until early January, where I'll be travelling interstate and won't have access to a computer (check voy:en:User:SHB2000 for some updates). However, after late January (around the 23rd), I presume I'll be back in full swing and therefore will have more time to edit.
Oh, and finally, I should mention that I'm indecisive on whether I should request for temporary or full adminship. On one hand, I haven't wrote a lot of content here (apart from copyediting some Wikijunior books), but on the other hand, I'm not much of a writer myself (travel and journalistic writing are another story, though ;-)) and don't expect to add much in terms of content and this comes back to the main reason why I'm requesting sysop tools: to fight the excessive vandalism this wiki has been receiving.
So there goes it. That's my long explanation of why I'm requesting sysop tools. TL;DR: this wiki has been receiving a lot of vandalism and using my experience on en.voy, I hope I can use these tools for the benefit of this wiki.

Support - while I don't like the chain of temp adminship requests for the sake of antivandalism, the reality is that we are short on active admins. This person has reasonable experience on Wikibooks itself, and their cross-wiki experience doesn't hurt. Personally, given your reasoning, I would go for temporary adminship, but I'm not opposed to full should the community consider that the better choice. Support. I think temporary adminship might be more appropriate to start with, given your reasoning that you could use more Wikibooks experience? I think that would be an appropriate start, so we can get a handle on the blatant and obvious vandalism, and then maybe full adminship a little later after you've contributed a bit more to Wikibooks? —Kittycataclysm (discuss • contribs) 15:13, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
Support - long history of being capable - and a few temp admins would really help here. Antandrus (discuss • contribs) 17:11, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

- @MarcGarver: apologies for being a bit impatient, but after reading your comment, would the level of support !votes here be sufficient enough? Sorry for rushing everything, but I'll be out of town between Jan 6 and 21 (and will not have access to a computer or internet) and would preferably like to get everything done before then. I know I shouldn't be using what happens IRL as an excuse, but I would preferably like to clear up everything before leaving. TIA, --SHB2000 (discuss • contribs) 11:14, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
