1790 Massachusetts gubernatorial election
The 1790 Massachusetts gubernatorial election was held on 5 April 1790 in order to elect the Governor of Massachusetts. Incumbent Governor John Hancock won re-election against former Governor James Bowdoin.[1]

General election
On election day, 5 April 1790, incumbent Governor John Hancock won re-election by a margin of 12,480 votes against his opponent former Governor James Bowdoin. Hancock was sworn in for his ninth overall term on 30 May 1790.[2]
