Changes

For this season the league was expanded to 18 teams from the previous 14. On February 22, 2024, the Peruvian Football Federation announced a new format for the Liga 2. All 18 teams will be divided into two groups in the Regional Stage based on their geographical location, being the Zona Norte (North Zone) and Zona Sur (South Zone). Each team will play each other in a round-robin format and the top six teams will advance to the Group Stage and bottom three into the Relegation Stage. In the group Stage, the 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six, with the top three teams will advance to the play-offs, with the first team entering the semi-finals and next two quarter-finals. Two teams will be promoted to the Liga 1 and one will be relegated.[1] The following teams have changed division since the 2023 season:

Juan Aurich and Union Huaral have their licenses retire for not fulfilling the requirements of FPF to participate.[2]
