- 5 April – More than 100,000 are displaced following floods caused by the spring thaw occur in northern and western parts of the country.[1][2]
- 14 May – The Supreme Court of Kazakhstan sentences former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev to 24 years in prison for torturing and murdering his wife.[3]
- 18 June – Kazakh opposition activist Aydosa Sadykov is shot and wounded in Kyiv, Ukraine.[4]
