A Resting Bashi-Bazouk
Rest of the Bashibozuk (Serbian: Одмор башибозука, Odmor bašibozuka), also known as the Arnaut warrior[1][2] and the Albanian warrior, is an early work by the Serbian artist Paja Jovanović, created in the mid-eighties of the 19th century. It is an example of an academic art from the artist's orientalist phase of creativity. The picture shows an armed bashi-bozuk relaxing with tea or coffee and smoking hookah.
