Andrew Peasley

Andrew Peasley (born January 6, 2000) is an American football quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Utah State Aggies and Wyoming Cowboys.

Early life

Peasley was born in La Grande, Oregon and he attended La Grande High School. Peasley would decide to commit to play college football at the University of Utah State.[2][3]

College career

Utah State

In Peasley's first season in 2018 he completed three of his eight passes for 19 yards, while also adding 76 yards on the ground.[4] In the 2019 season, Peasley would complete both of his pass attempts for five yards, while also rushing for 83 yards and his first career touchdown.[5] Peasley would get his first career start in week six of the 2020 season, where he would complete 14 out of his 21 passing attempts for 239 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown, as he helped the Aggies get their first win on the season beating New Mexico.[6][7] Peasley finished the 2020 season going 37 for 69 on his passing attempts for 391 yards and four touchdowns to three interceptions, while also rushing for 195 yards and a touchdown.[8] In the 2021 season Peasley would complete 28 of his 51 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns to two interceptions, while also adding 161 yards and a touchdown on the ground.[9] After the conclusion of the 2021 season Peasley would decide to enter the NCAA transfer portal.[10][11]

Wyoming

Peasley would decide to transfer to Wyoming to play out the rest of his career.[12][13] Peasley impressed during the 2022 Wyoming spring game as he threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns.[14] Peasley struggled in his first career start with the Cowboys in week zero of the 2022 season, where he completed five of his twenty passes for 30 yards and an interception, as the Cowboys lost to Illinois 38-6.[15] Peasley would bounce back in the following week as he completed 20 of his 30 passing attempts for 256 yards and two touchdowns, as he helped Wyoming get their first win on the season beating Tulsa.[16] Peasley finished the 2022 season going 144 for 275 on his passes for 1,574 yards and ten touchdowns to nine interceptions. Peasley would also rush for 339 yards and two touchdowns.[17] In week one of the 2023 season, where Peasley would throw for 149 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown, as he helped Wyoming upset Texas Tech.[18] In the following week, Peasley finished going 11 for 16 on pass attempts for 201 yards and career high three touchdowns with an interception, as he helped the Cowboys beat Portland State.[19]

On May 6, 2024, Peasley signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent.[22]

Personal life

Peasley is married to his wife Maia, and they have one son together.[23]
