Can Uzun

Can Yılmaz Uzun (born 11 November 2005) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a attacking midfielder for 1. FC Nürnberg.[2] Born in Germany, he plays for the Turkey national team. Since he is under the age of 21 and has only played 1 game for Turkey he can change his decision to represent German National team which he is considering after being left out of the squad for Euro 2024.

Club career

Uzun was called up to 1. FC Nürnberg II in April 2023,[2] where he scored a goal in four appearances in the Regionalliga Bayern,[3] and 1. FC Nürnberg in May 2023,[2] where he made three appearances in the 2. Bundesliga.[3] Uzun scored three goals in the first round of the 2023–24 DFB-Pokal, helping Nürnberg to a convincing 9–1 victory against fifth-tier club FC Oberneuland in the first round of the tournament.[4] In May 2024, at the end of the 2023–24 season, Uzun announced he would leave 1. FC Nürnberg, with reports linking him with a move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.[5]

International career

Born in Germany, Uzun is of Turkish descent with roots in Rize. He is a youth international for Turkey, having played up to the Turkey U18s.[1] On 22 March 2024, he made a debut in the Turkey national team in a 1–0 friendly loss against Hungary.[6]
