Gorgan County

Gorgan County (Persian: شهرستان گرگان) is in Golestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Gorgan.[3]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 393,887 in 105,120 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 462,455 people in 135,112 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 480,541 in 150,649 households.[2]

After the census, the village of Qoroq was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
