John Iredale

John Warwick Iredale (born 1 August 1999) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for German 3. Liga club SV Wehen Wiesbaden and the Australia national team.[1]

Club career

Iredale is a youth academy graduate of Sydney FC. He made his senior debut for the club on 2 August 2017 in a 8–0 cup win against Darwin Rovers.[2]

On 26 August 2021, SV Wehen Wiesbaden announced the signing of Iredale on a season long loan deal.[3] He made his professional debut for the club on 28 August in a 4–2 league defeat against 1. FC Magdeburg.[4] On 2 August 2022, he joined the club on a permanent basis by signing a two-year contract.[5]

International career

Iredale is a former Australian youth international.[6] He was member of the team which reached quarter-finals at the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship.[7] On 30 August 2018, he received his first call-up to the senior team for a training camp which was held in Turkey.[8]

In December 2023, Iredale was named in Australia's 26-man squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.[9]

On 26 March 2024, Iredale scored his first international goal against Lebanon during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match.
