Professional career

The Minnesota Twins selected Winder in the seventh round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.[2]

Winder made his professional debut with the Elizabethton Twins and played 2019 with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.[3] He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[4][5] Winder started 2021 with the Wichita Wind Surge and was promoted to the St. Paul Saints during the season.[6] In June 2021, Winder was selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game.[7] Over 14 starts between the two teams, Winder went 4–0 with a 2.63 ERA and 80 strikeouts over 72 innings.[8] On November 19, 2021, the Twins added Winder to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.[9]

Winder was placed on the 60–day injured list to begin the 2024 season as a result of a right scapula stress fracture sustained in late 2023.[10] On May 27, 2024, he was activated from the injured list and optioned to the Triple–A.[11]
