Martin Ádám

Martin Ádám (born 6 November 1994) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays as a forward for K League 1 club Ulsan HD and the Hungary national team.

Club career

While playing for Paks, Ádám became the top goalscorer of the 2021–22 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season, netting 31 goals.[4][5]

In July 2022, Ádám moved abroad for the first time in his career and signed for K League 1 team Ulsan Hyundai.[6] He scored his first goal for Ulsan in his second appearance for the club, on 13 August, in a 4–0 victory over Daegu FC.[7] With Ulsan, Ádám won two consecutive K League 1 titles, in 2022 and 2023.[8]

International career

On 23 March 2023, Ádám scored his first goal for the Hungary national team in a friendly match against Estonia.[9][10] On 16 November 2023, he scored the first goal of the game against Bulgaria in the penultimate match of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying. The match ended in a 2–2 draw, securing Hungary qualification for the final tournament.[11]

On 14 May 2024, Ádám was named in Hungary's squad for UEFA Euro 2024.[12] He appeared as a substitute in all three of the team's Group A matches, playing a total of 42 minutes.[13]

Personal life

Ádám met his wife Gitta in primary school. They have a son, Konor, and live in Forráskút.[14]

During UEFA Euro 2024, Ádám attracted the attention of international fans and media due to his physical appearance, being referred to as an "absolute unit" and nicknamed the "Hungarian Viking".[15][16]
