North Marion High School (Florida)

North Marion High School is a public high school and magnet school located in Citra, Florida. The school's athletic teams are known as the Colts and the varsity football team competes in the FHSAA Class 5A Division. The school colors are garnet and gold. The school currently serves 1,313 students in grades 9 through 12 (2018–19).[1]

State championships

North Marion won its first ever and only state championship, winning the 2023 FHSAA 4A State Championship in Varsity Baseball. They defeated Nature Coast, Hernando, Bishop Moore, Sunset, and Bishop Kenny to claim the title 5–0 in Ft. Myers. They secured an overall record of 27–5.

Music & Arts

North Marion's Colt Stampede placed ninth at the State marching band festival in 2021 and 16th in 2023. The band is led by Aaron Janosa and has had the following shows during his, as of 2024, six years as director; 2018 - British Invasion, 2019 - Rhaps-Odyssey, 2020 & 2021 - Alpha, 2022 - The Mechanism, 2023 - Beneath the Waves, with their 2024 show to be announced May 10. Their marching band, called the colt stampede, is currently in the AA division and received an overall rating of Superior for their 2022 show and Excellent for their 2023 show. The North Marion High School Jazz band also received a superior at Jazz MPA 2022 however they were unable to attend 2023. The North Marion High School has received Superiors at concert MPA for the last four years and the bands Motto is "Inspire Superior Performance."
