Owen Township, Jackson County, Indiana

Owen Township is one of twelve townships in Jackson County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,588 and it contained 667 housing units.[1] It was named for the local Owen family of pioneer settlers.[2]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 54.72 square miles (141.7 km2), of which 54.47 square miles (141.1 km2) (or 99.54%) is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2) (or 0.44%) is water.[4] The streams of Bee Creek, Clear Spring Creek and Little Salt Creek run through this township.
