Pivnichne, Donetsk Oblast
Pivnichne (Ukrainian: Північне; Russian: Пивни́чное), formerly Kirove (Ukrainian: Кірове; Russian: Ки́рово), is an rural settlement in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. Population: 9,024 (2022 estimate).[1]

In 2016, Kirove was renamed to Pivnichne, conforming to the law prohibiting names of Communist origin.
On June 22, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces gained a foothold within the settlement amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.[3][4]
