Riley Tanner

Riley Madison Tanner Rintala[lower-alpha 1] (born October 15, 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for USL Super League club Spokane Zephyr FC. Born in the United States, she represents the Panama women's national team.[3]

College career

Tanner played college soccer at the University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama, where she earned a Master of Public Health in 2022.[4]

Club career

After graduating college, she was chosen in the third round of the 2023 NWSL Draft by the Washington Spirit.[5] On April 8, 2024, she was waived by the Spirit.[6]

Tanner was signed by Spokane Zephyr in June 2024, ahead of the inaugural USL Super League season.[7]

International career

Although Tanner was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was eligible to play for Panama as her mother was born in Panama City.[8]

On January 26, 2023, Tanner was announced as part of a 23-player Panama squad for the Women's World Cup inter-confederation play-offs.[9] In the first play-off match against Papua New Guinea on February 19, Tanner scored in the 63rd minute after coming off the bench to help Panama win 2–0.[10]
