Background and release

On June 18, 2024, the singer announced through her social networks that she would release a new song, revealing its title, a sample of the song and the release date, scheduled for June 20.[4][5][6][7]

The artist had also been accused of plagiarizing the rhythm of the song "Addicted to You" by Shakira, since it can retain similar chords.[2]

Music and lyrics

Musically, "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido" is a merengue song with elements of mambo. Lyrically, the song reflects on the idea of missed opportunities and the wonders of what could have been if she had met her love interest sooner.[8]
