The 1% Club (American game show)
The 1% Club is an American game show, with its setup identically based on the British game show of the same name. Contestants are given a very short amount time to solve brain teaser questions, which each question getting significantly more difficult as the game continues, as statistically a smaller percentage of people according to the producers, answered that particular question correctly. It premiered on May 23, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. Episodes are originally aired instantly on demand internet streaming access on Amazon Prime, however these same episodes are later officially network primetime broadcast on Fox, with episodes being available next day on Amazon Prime Video. The series is hosted by Comedian Patton Oswalt. The show is produced and filmed at the American subsidiary of BBC Studios, in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.[2][3]

Format
100 in-studio contestants (whom are each represented by a number, ranging from 1 to 100) begin the game. Contestants have to answer puzzles, math questions, riddles, teasers, and trick questions, which require basic general and logic intelligence knowledge, and realistically no prior trivial pop culture knowledge. Each question is indicative of a percentage number, on what percentage of American people polled by the producers prior, statistically answered correctly. Fifteen questions in total are asked throughout the game. Each contestant also starts with $1,000, which is explained later below.
The contestants have 30 seconds to answer each question. Once time is up, Oswalt reveals how many contestants gave an incorrect answer. After that, Oswalt usually interviews and introduces in a comedic aside, contestants who are eliminated, and also interviews and introduces contestants who are still playing.
When a contestant is eliminated, their $1,000 (if they are still holding, explained below) is added to the prize jackpot.
Beginning from the fifth question (50%), each contestant can now trade their $1,000 for a lifeline called "pass", which they can only use once. From the fifth question (50%) to the fourteenth question (5%), if a contestant is approached with a question they are having difficulty with, they can use their pass to automatically advance to the next question. They have to make this decision before the time expires for each question. Even though the contestant is not eliminated, using the pass adds their $1,000 to the prize jackpot. If the contestant is eliminated and has already used their pass, nothing is added to the jackpot.
After the eighth question (35%), any contestant who at this point has not yet used their pass, may choose to quit the game immediately and leave with $1,000. Oswalt gives the contestants thirty seconds to make their decision, and any contestant who accepts this offer is eliminated from the game. Their stake, however, is not added to the prize jackpot.
When contestants reach the fifteenth and final question (1%), if they are still in possession of their pass, they win the $1,000 they have been holding during the game. The pass cannot be used in the final question. Contestants reaching this point are offered a chance to leave the game with a prize, which is an equal share of $10,000, depending on how many contestants made it to the final question, so this amount varies in each episode. If contestants accept the offer, they leave with this amount and are eliminated from the game. If contestants reject the offer, they go on to answer the final question for the final prize jackpot amount.
Contestants giving an incorrect response for the final question win nothing, other than the $1,000 bonus if they have not used their pass for the entire game. Contestants giving the correct response equally split that episode's jackpot prize, plus the $1,000 bonus if they have not used their pass for the entire game, and become an official member of the 1% club. The maximum possible jackpot of $100,000 can only be achieved if no one chooses to walk away after the eighth question, and exactly one contestant participates in the final question and wins.
