Zsófia von Habsburg

Zsófia Mária Tatjána Mónika Erzsébet Katalin von Habsburg-Lothringen (born 12 January 2001) is a Hungarian-Austrian member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.

Early life and family

Zsófia von Habsburg was born on 12 January 2001 in Telki to Georg von Habsburg and Eilika zu Oldenburg.[1] She is the granddaughter of Otto von Habsburg and a great-granddaughter of Emperor Charles I and Empress Zita.[2] Von Habsburg is the sister of Ildikó von Habsburg and Károly Konstantin von Habsburg.[3]

She grew up in Sóskút.[2] She was baptized in the Catholic faith and her godmother is Queen Sofía of Spain.[3]

Von Habsburg competed as an equestrian through the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.[4][5]

Education and work

Von Habsburg was educated in Catholic schools until high school, where she received diplomas from both German and Hungarian programs.[6] She studied international studies at IE University in Madrid.[2][6]

In 2023, she was an intern for the Hungarian Delegation to North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Personal life

Von Habsburg speaks German and Hungarian and is a dual citizen.[2]

In November 2022, von Habsburg was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris.[7] She was escorted by Prince Leopold of Baden, the son of Bernhard, Margrave of Baden.[8][9] She wore a gown by Franck Sorbier for the event and 19th-century diamond earrings, on loan from V Muse, which were commissioned by Maria Teresa, Duchess of Parma.[8][10]
