Firuzeh County

Firuzeh County (Persian: شهرستان فیروزه)[lower-alpha 1] is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Firuzeh.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, Taghenkuh District and Takht-e Jolgeh District were separated from Nishapur County in the establishment of Firuzeh County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Firuzeh as its capital.[3]

Demographics

Population

The census in 2011 counted 42,739 people in 12,351 households.[4] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 37,539 in 11,783 households.[2]

After the census, the village of Garmab was elevated to the status of a city.[5]
